Where to start??
God has blessed us with this amazing bundle of love… we have named him Isaiah – “God Saves”. Such a powerful strong name for such a tiny little man… but we know God has amazing things in store for Isaiah!
Isaiah’s story of coming into this world started at midnight saturday november 14th when the ‘water main’ broke! We waited for 12 hours before heading into the hospital… only to be sent home and told to get comfy and come back in the morning. urgh…
Monday morning came – and so did the contractions every 7 minutes! By 4 in the afternoon, after being on oxytocin (a labor inducer) for two hours the dr informed us that by this stage in the game the risk of infection was getting stronger because my water had been broken for over 40 hours and the oxytocin – as painful as it was! – wasn’t doing the job. Little Isaiah was not ready to leave the womb! either that or he was lodged under my ribs (which is my theory). The next thing we knew I was being prepped for a cesarean section.
At 5:52 – 2 hours after the c-section decision – Isaiah was born! With Kris at my side, he looked up a saw the two dr’s pulling Isaiah out – and he told me it was a boy! All the nurses were amazed at how big he looked. They guessed that he was between 9-10 pounds! In actuality he was only 8 pounds 7 ounces and 21 inches long! Which is a third of how tall i am! not sure where Isaiah got these genes from!! By 7pm monday night I had my little boy in my arms! It was an incredible feeling to have this little person finally in my arms!! – a feeling that was quickly followed by extreme nausea… one of the many wonderful perks of having an epidural!
After two loooooooooong days and nights in the hospital, Isaiah and I came home!! He has been such a great little boy! We are extremely blessed to have him in our lives and we can’t wait to see what God has in store for our little man.

Thank you all so much for praying for our little Isaiah and for his arrival!
Love,
our little family,
Kris, Amanda & Isaiah

I’ve come to the understanding that YES you do need 9 months to prepare yourself for a wee little baby… but we are definitely ready now! So come on baby!! Make your grand entrance into this world please!! we are trying to be patient – but we are done with being patient! It’s time to obey your parents!! (just got a swift kick in the ribs – guess baby is already putting up a fight!

Besides cleaning our house, getting together with new friends, baking lots of cookies (and eating lots of cookies)… we found a few days to paint baby’s room! Lucky for me, two of Kris’s friends from Sherwood Park came and we put them to work to have this room completely finished in 3 days!! We just love it and have been itching to start more painting projects around the house!! But seeing as we will be having a full house for the next 3-4 weeks we decided it might be best to wait! My mom and little sister Jessica are flying out from Ontario tomorrow! and next week Kris’s brother Kyle and his wife Amy will be joining us too! Followed by a visit from my Dad and step mom from Ontario as well! We are also lucky to have Mom & Dad Corbin only two hours away from us too!
Kris has been staying busy preparing for the Annual General Meeting for the camp this weekend – everyone who is interested in the ‘going ons’ of the camp is invited to come! 10-3 this saturday! (shameless plug for BelleView!) We have definitely fallen in love with this camp and the adventure it is to ‘keep all systems operating’! We are excited to see how God is going to use this camp for his glory, to bring rejuvenation and peace to his children, to build up leadership and growth in the supporting churches and to encourage the pursuit of holiness and devotion in living our lives for God.
This little CORBIN update has been sponsored by ‘the laundry’ – which i am currently doing! and which inspired me to update you all on our little life out here on range road 560!
love to you all and blessings on your own adventures this day!

Hello!
just wanted to tell everyone that tomorrow Kris and I are going into the Big City… Edmonton!! Yes, it is something that needs to be announced to the whole world! Why are we heading 2 hours into the thriving metropolis and home of the Oilers? Well, you see, Kris is going for his accreditation interview with the Alliance District!! WOOtWOOt! We are going to be a family of accredited workers! SO if you are thinking of it, please pray for my husband as he prepares for this interview and for his wife that will be sitting beside him for two hours!
Other things at camp are going awesome! We have had a few groups in this month and Kris is really getting familiar with the basics of running and preparing the camp for groups! He has also been able to work a little on the climbing wall belaying for groups, and playing Mr. Handyman around the lodge! Kris has even found a few fun new toys as well … a quad, an air riffle, rice crispy treats, walkie talkies, and lots of marbles! Luckily the snow has all melted and we still get to see blue sky from time to time! I have been told that i must stop praying for snow and for Christmas to come soon… oh well… i guess it will arrive whether i pray for it or not right?
We are still getting use to having a huge house to ourselves – i guess that will soon change once family comes to visit babynewborn – But we are really enjoying the calm and peaceful environment that we are living in! We’ve see deers and porcupines and coyotes and apparently a moose all on our very dirty gravel road!! So extremely different from the of Lower Mainland BC!! We have bit the bullet and gotten ourselves satellite though! I was going a little stir crazy around here and i think probably driving Kris a little crazy at times!!
Baby Corbin is doing very well. The doctors are taking very good care of us – so much so that they’ve put us on a special diet to make sure we are getting all the ‘good-stuff’ we need! We have had a tour of the hospital/maternity ward here and are eager to set up camp there one day soon!!
That about wraps up our adventures over the past few weeks!

Hello everyone!
Well, we are here!! and the adventure has begun!
Being a part of our life, we wanted to send you all a little update and a look into our new lives here in Alberta! We want so very much to stay close to all of you and keep you involved as much as possible in the going ons of our little life here! You have all played a huge roll in our lives and who Kris and I are today – and that is why we want to stay in touch with you!!
Kris officially started work here at Belle View Bible Camp on October 1st. He survived hosting his first youth group retreat here this past weekend and has been digging right in to the camp life! We have been blessed by some amazing Camp Board members who have been taking care of us and teaching both Kris and I the ropes and history of the camp. Living right here on camp property has been a blessing too!! the only kind of traffic kris has to worry about getting through to get into work are the pesty bugs! but soon enough the snow will be here – no i’m not praying for it yet, but i did hear a report that there was snow this morning in some parts of the town!!
We are about 15 minutes away from the closest town, St. Paul. They just opened a Tim Hortons 3 weeks ago! They must have known we were coming!! On Sunday we attended St. Paul Alliance Church where we were so warmly welcomed and even invited to join a small group already!! One of our biggest prayer requests was that God would provide us with friends out here our age and in our stage of life – on Sunday we noticed how God has answered our prayers!! Not only were there 8 brand new babies and 5 expectant mothers, there were handfuls of young adults and young families that instantly welcomed us into their lives!! We feel so incredibly blessed already!! What an awesome answer to prayer.
Baby Corbin is doing well too … growing kicking and keeping me extrememly tired.
Thank you all for your prayers as we have been settling in and adjusting to a lot of change! Please keep those prayers coming!!
A lot of you have also asked for our new contact information… so here it is!!
